Vintage Tents Erected on Custom Built Frames
OVERVIEW

CLIENTS
Steely Fox, Edinburgh & London
Tents joined wall to wall and atttached to a train carriage bar
Steel Fox describe themselves as
Specialists in sector, generalists in discipline our approach has always been straightforward: work collaboratively, be brave, and produce outstanding work that is creatively effective and financially rewarding.

What they wanted
TWO TENTS DIRECTLY JOINED TO EACH OTHER AND A RAILWAY CARRIAGE
Steely Fox were creating an experiential vintage feel bar with a steam punk look. The bar was designed around a steam-era railway carriage , two of our vintage tents and a beer garden. The bar was to be created in Brighton city centre during a busy May day with the general public to be managed as part of the build.

WHAT WE DELIVERED
12X9M CREATED FROM 2 X 6X9M TENTS
We propose to use 20 sections of steel deck which will weigh 1400kg. This will also form the flooring and some anchorage.
We will construct a frame for the tent using aluminium scaffold. This will replace the original wooden poles and rope rigging so as to create a more stable frame for hard standing.
Our core team has worked in outdoor events since 1996. We are fully trained in the rigging of our equipment, and have PRINCE2 accreditation to ensure good project management.
We work safely and smartly and provide Method Statements and Risk Assessments. We follow the latest Health & Safety industry standards.
Client Background & Brief

Steely Fox
Steely Fox were the production team taking the Hendrick’s Gin companies Horseless Gin Carriage on tour around the UK. The events were to promote the brand and get people to sample the drinks and sign up for promotional literature. We are in need of a vintage, army style tent for the Brighton Fringe Fest – May 20 – 30, set up possibly afternoon of the 19th (otherwise early early on the 20th)Location is Jubilee Square, BN1 1GE.
Client Brief
We will not have allowance to peg anything into the ground so the tent will need to be weighted down.
Size needs to be big enough for 45 cabaret style seating, with room also for props.
Multiple entrances/exits for the tent (ie roll up any side required).
Any spots / curtains etc that we put up can be held by the structure.
3D Drawing Created
The client had a particular look they wanted to achieve. This was the design proposal drawing we provided.
We created a 3d diagram of the frame . It will be designed to allow easy access for the exits and entrances.
Walling can be configured to create what you need.

Tent Masters with Jedi rigging skills
As this is an unusual rig we will need a full day to erect the structures and make them safe.
We will have to create some guttering to capture any water that runs down in between the two tents join. This will run any water away to the outside of the tent.
- Planned schedule is arrive 7.30 to watch train arrive.
- Steeldeck arrive at 8am.
- Unload steeldeck and assemble 9x12m flooring.
- 2hr Build first 6x9m tent 2hrs (frame up roof on)
- Lunch – 30mins Build second tent 2hrs (frame up roof on)
- Attach guttering in between tent’s join (9m length) 30mins
- Attach side walling where required and extend walls with hessian to required length (5ft > 7ft) 1hr
