Thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. Its got some great tips on how to put on a successful party.  Its also a good rags to riches story written in a nice informal witty style.

We liked the history of the Jamilly family particularly the era of running Laurence Corner military surplus store.  The store’s history is woven into the history of fashion in pop music with many artists buying outfits from the store.

Over The Moon too loves its military surplus wares and there usability for events so the Laurence Corner story was fascinating.

The book also serves as a snapshot of the growth of the event industry in the UK throughout the 90’s as the Jamilly’s company Theme Traders reflects this growing part of the economy. There are some handy sections detailing do’s and don’ts which we’ve highlighted for future use (some of which we knew while others were good to learn).
